Elizabeth Leachman from Boerne Champion TX smashed the national high school record in the indoor 5,000 meters in her first track race at that distance, running 15:28.90 to better Katelyn Tuohy's record by nearly nine seconds. Leachman earlier won the 2-mile with the No. 2 time in prep history at Nike Indoor Nationals.
